I'm pretty sure most everyone who reads this blog knows how to make a gumbo. But we've done the recipe a few times over the years in case anyone's interested. As is the case with a lot of stuff I cook, I do it a little differently every time. Here's the most basic version of turkey gumbo originally posted here back in 2006. And then a few years later I did this thing I called a "Turducken gumbo" which is probably one of the crowning achievements of my life.
Anyway, it's just the thing for these chilly fall temperatures in the mid-80s we've been having.
