Failing upward

We've been speculating about John White's next move up the Very Important Administrator ladder for some time.  Nothing we said about it back in May is any different now.

Here's his latest letter of recommendation.
Louisiana Education Superintendent John White gets a shout-out from national education analyst Andy Smarick, a partner at Bellwether Education Partners, senior policy fellow with the Thomas B. Fordham Institute and former deputy education commissioner in New Jersey. Here's what Smarick wrote of White on his blog Tuesday:

"I'm convinced he should (and will) be the next U.S. secretary of education."
In case you're wondering how this system works, yes, Smarick's consulting group does count the LA Dept of Education among its clients.
