The search for a firm to determine just what went wrong at the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board during its early August drainage crisis will take at least another week, according to Mayor Mitch Landrieu's administration. This says the report is supposed to uncover "underlying problems" at the Sewerage and Water Board, by which I think they mean actual engineering and physical systems type problems. Because if they're just looking for general problems, they already have plenty from the Inspector General.
Spokeswoman Erin Burns said in an email Monday (Sept. 25) that the deadline for proposals was extended another week -- to Friday, Sept. 29. That marks the second time the administration has stretched its schedule to collect responses.
