A group calling itself Concerned Classified City Employees is meeting Tuesday Sept 25 to discuss the Mayor's push to scrap the civil service system. The meeting is that the Little Zion Baptist Church at 4821 Earhart Blvd. This reform is a big big deal that's kind of out there under the radar right now. The final "Mayor's Community Budget Meeting" thingy is tonight at the Gentilly Baptist Church, 5141 Franklin Ave from 6-8 PM. This is the District D meeting that had to be pushed back due to Hurricane Isaac. Like the 2012 New Orleans Saints, these meetings may not be all that productive but they sure are entertaining. If enough people show up, maybe they can push this one into overtime.
