Here's a hint at what they're giving away to the nostalgia company so it can make fried beef tallow and sugar mounds again.

To secure the project, the state of Louisiana offered Hubig’s a competitive incentive package that includes the comprehensive workforce solutions of LED FastStart– the nation’s No. 1 state workforce development program. Hubig’s also will participate in LED’s Small Business Loan and Guaranty Program, and is expected to utilize the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption and Enterprise Zone programs.

“Hubig’s has been a staple in greater New Orleans for generations,” Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni said. “The Parish Council and administration stand at the ready to support the Hubig’s team as they continue to make strides toward their relaunch.”

“JEDCO is pleased to play a role in bringing this iconic regional brand back into commerce,”said Jerry Bologna, the president and CEO of the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission. “Through financing opportunities, we are doing our part to help Hubig’s commence production as soon as possible. This project will further advance the vibrant food manufacturing industry in Jefferson Parish, which is an area of focus for JEDCO.”

Fortunado finally read the other poll

Guess he's not Yenni's friend now.

"I do not and will not ever endorse Mike Yenni for any election in Jefferson Parish," Fortunato said Wednesday.

But during a forum broadcast Sunday night by WDSU-TV, Fortunato said he did not think Yenni should have resigned in the wake of the scandal and answered "Yes" when asked if he would support Yenni in the 2019 re-election cycle.

When moderator Eric Paulson pointed out the inconsistency between the two answers, Fortunato responded, "I said that I would support Yenni. As the sheriff of Jefferson Parish, I understand what it is to have to work with all parish government officials."

Okay.

They're gonna have him to kick around some more.

With 20 days left before the April 6 deadline, the group pushing to oust Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni over a sexting scandal has conceded it won’t have anywhere near the number of necessary signatures to force a recall election.

Recall Yenni leader Robert Evans III said Friday morning that even after spending $120,000, collecting the roughly 90,000 signatures required "cannot be achieved before the deadline."

If only there had been more jokes about this during Mardi Gras  the recall effort might have reached enough people.

Most depressing advice ever

Kenner Mayor Mike Yenni on his city's latest development and PR strategy:

In addition, the city can revamp its main thoroughfares to make them more attractive and modern. Those changes address quality of life concerns raised as crucial during meetings with the business community, the mayor said. Yenni would like to transform Kenner from a bedroom community of New Orleans into a self-contained metropolis.

“You don’t really have to leave Kenner. The city has a lot to offer,” Yenni said. He and Quigley are pushing the motto of “Kenner: A Community of Choice” to drive home that point.

Also "A Community of Choice" is a pretty bold statement on social issues for a conservative-leaning bedroom community during an election year so congratulations, there.

What? That's not what they meant? Oh well no worries.  Those people get bored with their mottoes faster than LSU fans do with their quarterbacks. They'll come back with a new one in no time.  Meanwhile most of us will continue to call it what we want.

I hope no one has too many and says the wrong thing

$1,000 cocktail hour with the Mayors doesn't necessarily seem like a setting for trouble at first glance. But recall the venue has something of a reputation. Also one of the principals involved is unusually touchy when it comes to name calling.
