Not the most reassuring quote

I presume they'll tell us when this changes.
Jefferson Parish Public Works Director Kazem Alikhani says the river is clearly on the rise here.

"I think right now the elevation is 14 and a half feet, expected to reach 15 feet by Thursday or Friday and eventually 17 and a half or 18 before it crests," said Alikhani.

That's just two feet below the 20-feet of protection from the Mississippi River levees.

"I think right now, there is no reason to panic," said Alikhani.
