30,000 unemployment claims

Is that a lot? In a week, I mean.  Seems like a lot.

30,000 people filed unemployment claims in Louisiana so far this week.

Last week, 1,700 people filed claims. There are so many claims that Ava Dejoie, head of LWC, is recommending people call in the middle of the night or early in the morning to get through. #lalege #lagov

The maximum weekly benefit is $247. Maybe we can all go work for Winn-Dixie now.
