That's always the part where
they find all the secret money in the sofa cushions somewhere.
The Louisiana state government will have $179 million more to spend
this year and next year, after public revenue estimates came in higher
than originally projected.
Legislative leadership said they expect to use at least $100 million
of the new revenue to address Louisiana's $1.6 billion budget shortfall.
The money will primarily go to backstopping the state's health care
programs, which are facing dramatic cuts.
Still gonna need at least $150 million (or probably more) to "balance" the terrible budget. Maybe revisit those film tax credits one more time?
