Everywhere is Brooklyn

Actually, it's worse than that.  Everywhere is either Brooklyn or it's a scene from The Big Easy.
A few years back, I was writing a story on Donald Link and Pêche Seafood Grill for a publication based in New York. They'd seen photos of Pêche, but weren't too excited about including them. It looked, they said, like a place you'd find in Brooklyn. They wanted a photo that was more uniquely New Orleans. Perhaps Donald Link posing on a streetcar?
Nothing can just be what it is anymore. Maybe nothing is anything independently of what the NYT Travel section brands it.  Probably has something to do with the theory that no actual people live here anymore.. which is something I just kind of tossed out there last night.   Maybe I'm on to something.
