Algiers ferry might go away

But hey at least voters agreed to continue in the privilege of paying a dollar to take the bridge anyway so they've got that going for them.

  1. Why oh why did people vote for that? I suppose they convinced themselves that it was the civic-minded thing to do, supporting user fees for infrastructure maintenance. However, that was never going to be the case. And even if the Algiers ferry remains, supported in large part from toll subsidies, it's still just going to be for the tourists.

    Tourists?? Everyone in my neighborhood uses the ferry at least 2 times a day. Most of us only have bikes!!!!
