The
Star Chamber gathers and discusses its evidence in secret. The evidence is presented to the defendant only under extreme pressure applied through the common law courts. And, of course, it turns out the Star Chamber is
bending facts to suit its pre-determined verdict but that doesn't matter.
The King is above the law.
