• Economists to Romney campaign: That’s not what our research says
  I guess it's no big surprise that candidates make up shit all the time. But sometimes it's fun to see precisely how they're doing that. In this article Ezra Klein contacts the economists cited by a Mitt campaign policy paper and asks them about its assertions. They all say Mitt is misrepresenting their research. This, by the way, is precisely the sort of thing all political reporters should be doing. But gets drowned out by a sea of much easier stories which simply parrot the candidate's claims qualified only by a "Romeny campaign says.."
