Arachnoquake for real

Local fans of stupid schlock will recall that the phonetically spelled SyFy network recently aired a made-for-TV horror film about  a plague of giant killer spiders unleashed upon New Orleans from the bowels of the Louisiana swamp by a natural gas drilling operation.

It was called Arachnoquake and it was kind of a big deal for a second. And then it wasn't. Here's the trailer in case you've forgotten.

You pretty much get the idea from that.  And ordinarily, after seeing this trailer, you could fill in the rest of the blanks in the plot and wouldn't have to actually watch the movie.

Except in this case, we may end up having to live it.

Authorities are trying to find out what lurks below Bayou Corne. First, people in Assumption Parish felt tremors. Then, there were bubbles. By Last Thursday, a massive sinkhole appeared, pulling cypress trees and plant life in the area under. All that's left in the area near Bayou Corne and Grand Bayou is a "slurry mixture of muddy water and soil" that's 380 ft. wide, according to the state. Now, with a salt dome owned by Texas Brine, LLC, is being investigatied as the cause.
Uh oh.  Call Scott Angelle. He'll know what to do.
