Wow.. things happen so fast when actual Americans are involved

House panel OKs $250M for Twin Cities

Related: The other day, Josh Marshall wrote the following about the budding Ted Stevens scandal.

Perhaps it's the old story of political systems built on economies with a heavy reliance on relatively primitive extractive industries -- a pattern that one sees again and again around the world.


As someone who makes his living covering the corruption endemic to the entire system in Washington D.C. Marshall should know better than to engage in this sort of snobbery... but I think it says something about how the proper Americans tend to view their backwards colonies.
