The Landrieu administration has proposed doubling rates for parking meters in New Orleans, increasing the cost per hour to $3 in the French Quarter and $2 elsewhere in the city. But after complaints about its impact from the service and cultural industry, Mayor Mitch Landrieu said there is room for compromise.I'd like to think one bargaining chip would involve not extending the hours as late as they're planning to but that isn't mentioned in the article.
"We're in discussions now," the mayor said Wednesday (Dec. 23) after providing a recap of city government highlights for 2015.
