David Vitter is an accomplished veteran of the Louisiana Legislature, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. At each level, he has worked to safeguard taxpayers' money and upend the political status quo. He brings a keen intelligence and tenacity to his job. And he understands the difficult changes that must be made to make our state a better place to live.Of course it's hard for them to match the level of contempt in which the candidate himself holds Louisiana voters.
These are the qualities Louisiana needs in its next governor.

David Vitter says there are "a lot" of Syrian refugees coming into Louisiana. He doesn't say how many exactly although he does imply it is a scary number. (Let alone the fact that he assumes it's scary that there are any at all.) But the email is intended to capitalize on an erroneous report by the Vitter campaign's bought and paid for propaganda website The Hayride which claimed as many as 10,000 refugees had already come into Louisiana through New Orleans. The actual number is 14.
No matter. Vitter will milk this late burst of Islamaphobia for all it's worth the rest of the week. Is it enough to reverse his flagging fortunes before election day? We took an informal survey.
Well OK if we're gonna play this game what would Louisiana prefer to have?

Technically the polls are still open on that one as of this posting, but it doesn't look good for Vitter so far.
