Here's Stacy Head reacting to news that instances of vehicle booting in New Orleans have increased 134 percent since the implementation of a draconian one overdue parking violation and you're booted policy.
“This is good news,”
Due to our increasingly warped priorities signified by reductions in state and federal aid to cities, of course municipalities are put in the unfortunate position of having to rely on punitive fees and questionably legal tax farming schemes in order balance their budgets. That sucks. But the least we could ask as citizens is that our elected representatives not revel in this sad fact.
Update: And yes, of course, our elected representatives don't mind allowing the tax farmers to hold our credit ratings hostage either.
