The Saints worked out 35 year old Randy Moss today and, according to Pete Prisco's "league source" the workout "couldn't have gone better". It's difficult to tell from Prisco's description of the workout precisely what that means. Moss apparently "showed great football intelligence" which sounds like something we should be encouraged to hear. Maybe he can play quarterback. Maybe he'll have to.
But my guess is the Saints don't actually want Moss to play for them. But leaking to the media that a Hall of Fame receiver came in and had a workout that "couldn't have gone better" seems like a too shrewd by half attempt to bargain with Marques Colston. And too shrewd by half does seem to be the Saints' M.O. lately.
