You usually have to be a badass to get a third contract with original team. Marques Colston qualifies.

Rosenthal is, of course, referring to this news.
The New Orleans Saints agreed to a five-year deal with receiver Marques Colston, a league source confirmed today. Terms of the deal were not released, but one source indicated the deal is worth between $35 million to $40 million with $18 million to $19 million guaranteed. And the NFL Network's Jason la Canfora reported the deal is worth a maximum of $40 million, with less than half guaranteed.
Here's what qualifies as "bad ass"
For his career he has 449 receptions for 6,240 yards and 48 touchdowns. With this new contract he will likely finish his career holding every significant Saints receiving record.

So there. Bountygate, schmountygate. Meanwhile, Carl Nicks is mulling over what he tweeted to be a "respectable offer" from the Saints last night. This inevitably brought a cascade of responses from fans begging him to stay. Some of us tried to remind him that Louisiana still offers some pretty slick tax credits tied to the film industry someone in his bracket might take advantage of. We'll see if that was persuasive or not soon enough.
As for the bad news... well the Legislature is in session so there will be plenty of that. More later.
