4 Henry Glover jurors talk about the case, their verdictsThe jurors had heard conflicting testimony as to whether a beating occurred. But when it came down to it, jurors said the evidence was scant. Because so many witnesses admitted lying to either federal investigators or to a grand jury, the contradictory statements were difficult to go on, jurors said.
They particularly pored over one exhibit -- a photo of the men handcuffed at a police compound -- and looked for any signs of bruises, cuts or other signs of injuries.
"Do I believe they beat them? Of course I do. But there were no marks in the picture," Brown said.
The group cleared Scheuermann and McRae of the beating
