End of a terror

Celebrated and revered NOLA cultural institution, The House Of Shock Horror Show, soon to be ain't dere no more.
The House of Shock, that venerable haunted house complex in the shadow of the Huey P. Long Bridge in Jefferson, will be no more after Halloween 2014, according to a note on its website. "Join us this year as we celebrate this our Final year," the site announces. "... This is the very last year to experience an institution that influenced an industry."
As intentionally cheesy diversions go, this one was a lot of fun.  It's been quite a few Halloween seasons since we didn't at least try to make it out there.  For what it's worth, I gave the experience a brief, bulleted "review" back in 2008
